The project site at the southern edge of Bree is going through a transformation. During the past 50 years, the green landscape has had to gradually make room for a hospital, several school buildings, social housing, a police office and hard infrastructure. Thanks to a new master plan, version 2.0, and the new sports facilities we are taking an important step towards a green campus ideal for sports and leisure — a new reference point for the city.
The concept we are presenting here is the result of a primary design study that tries to formulate appropriate answers to the ambitions and expectations of the project definition by means of a master plan and a specific architecture. We are doing this within the challenges of the broader societal context and starting from an analysis of the site’s program. This is a first attempt to shape the site together with the city and its stakeholders.
